A flexible, modular approach — launching September
Over the years, I’ve developed a substantial bank of literature teaching materials across a range of GCSE texts, shaped through live teaching, real student responses, and a focus on clarity, confidence, and thoughtful writing.
From September, this will form the basis of a new, more flexible approach to studying English Literature — designed to support students without the pressure of a full weekly class.
Students will be able to access a growing Literature Skills & Text Library, allowing them to learn content at their own pace, and use live time for thinking and support :
build strong essay-writing skills
develop confidence with key texts
work through clear teaching videos and guided tasks
revisit explanations at their own pace
Texts are likely to include:
Macbeth/Romeo and Juliet
An Inspector Calls
Animal Farm
The Sign of Four
The course will place particular emphasis on the areas students often find most challenging:
Power & Conflict poetry
Unseen poetry
building analytical paragraphs
planning and structuring essays
Alongside the self-study materials and videos, students will have access to:
monthly live workshops (essay planning, revision strategies, Q&A)
optional essay marking for those who would like feedback
This allows students to receive support where needed, without the demands of a full weekly course.
This approach is designed to be:
flexible and manageable
clear and structured
supportive without being overwhelming
grounded in real teaching experience
Full details, dates, and booking options will be released over the coming months.
