Welcome to our dynamic GCSE Film Studies program, where academic exploration meets creative writing.

We will engage with influential films that have shaped storytelling and film technology: from timeless classics to cutting-edge wonders, we'll dissect a diverse array of films, inviting you to unravel their artistic construction and contemplate representation and context. Alongside exploring cinematic masterpieces, you'll craft your own screenplay opening, mastering the intricacies of character development, narrative structure, camera shots, and genre conventions in either horror or teen films. Through in-depth analysis, you'll gain invaluable insights into the craft of filmmaking, laying the groundwork for your own screenwriting endeavours. 

A two year course, taught weekly in 1.30 min lessons.  Budget payment £30 per month  


English Language IGCSE - 1 year

Following the Cambridge syllabus, there are two pathways to this course. Following from the pre-GCSE course there is a choice of November or May sittings. This course covers all the skills required for the examination including writer's effects, transactional writing and creative writing, plus question analysis and exam technique. Starts in June.  Budget payment £30 per month.

They'll hone their writing skills to express insights accurately and analytically in Standard English, expanding their vocabulary and mastering essential literary and linguistic terms. With over 16 years of experience preparing teens for exams, our curated selection of texts ensures both engagement and manageability for this one-year course. Budget payment £30 per month.

English Literature GCSE & English Language iGCSE - 2 year combined

Welcome to our English Language and Literature course, designed specifically for students taking the AQA syllabus 8702 and the Cambridge iGCSE. Our course offers a comprehensive learning experience that will help you develop your language and literature skills, preparing you for the exams in October 2024 and May 2025.

Combining language and literature in this course provides a stimulating and engaging lessons. You will gain valuable insights into the techniques and skills used by authors and poets, and learn how to analyse texts effectively. By studying real-life examples, such as Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet,' Conan Doyle's 'The Sign of Four,' and Orwell's 'Animal Farm,' you will learn how to appreciate the literary devices used by writers to engage their audience, and use real texts as a basis for developing English language transactional writing skills.

The course covers all aspects of English Language and Literature, including comprehension, analysis, and communication and transactional writing. A level English Literature

A two year course, English Literature following  AQA Specification B covering the genres of tragedy and crime writing including works by Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy, crime fiction from pre- and post-2000 and poetry. There is also a coursework element.
