Overview

Everyone learns differently, and Arts Discovery was set up after many years of teaching students in a range of settings but all with diverse learning styles. Arts Discovery is about learning through the visual arts, film and language. An essential modern world skill is having the ability to understand created meaning through the juxtaposition of image and word to read the world around you.

Art Discovery is an Arts Award Centre, member of the Tutors' Association, holds a full enhanced DBS check and has current Level 2 safeguarding training.

I am a secondary teacher with over 16 years experience across all Key Stages to A level and also an accredited  Arts Award assessor. I feel that it is important to match the qualification to the child and so the option of quality learning through formal exams or applied skills recognises and celebrates those differences. I have been teaching home educated students online since 2014 having previously had the fun of home educating my own children.

'Thank you so much for all the help you gave me this year! I have had such fun and learnt more than I could have hoped for. I feel a great deal more prepared for the exam and even more excited about the subject.'   Charlotte

'She is an outstanding teacher: widely-read, highly-organised, brimming with enthusiasm, very responsive to the needs of individual students, demanding in a firm but thoughtful way, and determined that her students should succeed. She worked exceptionally well with all kinds of students, always requiring the best of them while providing detailed guidance and support. She is dynamic and creative, and never allows a student to slip under the radar.'  LinkedIn, 2019
